Mwanakuche Community Farms

What do we do?

We are a Somali-Bantu led community garden and farm that is focused on nourishing immigrants and the local community. Through our two separate locations, we are able to provide fresh produce and educational activities to immigrant families, local farmstands, and partner organizations across the region.

  • Located in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, our 34 acre location produces vegetables, fruits, goats, sheep, cows, and chickens to our local community

  • Located in the Perry South neighborhood in Pittsburgh, PA, our small-scale community garden is our main source of providing produce and education to nearby neighborhoods

  • Mwanakuche Farms & Garden’s purpose is not solely about food production — it is about building resilient communities for both immigrants and refugees alike.
